First time buyers and the short sale.....

By
Real Estate Agent with Kinlin Grover Real Estate Broker 9065994

We must all remember to explain everything when we are working with first time homebuyers.  Since most are relatively young, with minimal life experiance, we will sometimes make assumptions.

Then, bring these newbies into short sale.....now you know you could not have described or explained enough how tediious this process will be.  With the average short sale taking 6 months (if we are fortunate), these kids are living with Mom and Dad, or worse yet, are giving 30 day notices to their landlord each and every month.

The most recent first time buyers I worked with, had a baby who celebrated her first birthday, before they moved into their short sale home.

They are very happy in their new home.  Hopefully the memories will wane befoe they move again.

Denise - Unfortunately, with the advent of a "short sale market" times are what they are.  I don't undertand why a buyer would give notice, until they have an approved short sale confirmation.

That's where the ignorance comes in.  Thanks for the comment

I think it is our duty as agents to teach our clients what to expect in any given situation, short sales in particular.
