I have read a few blogs lately about market is slow, business is scarce. Not really something makes me down or anything, as a matter of fact, I am kind of glad to hear our market is not the only one which is slow.
Weather is HOT outside, school is fixing to start everywhere, people taking last minute vacation. Tax free weekend for back to school shopping, their mind is full of other stuffs they have to think about.
Who has the time to think about looking at houses, especially if they are just lookers, not serious buyers. Who cares if we have a pay check this month, or next month or maybe next next month. The thought can be scary, can't it?
But that's exactly what we don't need to do, do not have those NEGATIVE thoughts. If we have more time on hand now, what do/should we do to get some business?
I didn't have a very good week last week, it was kind of a downer for me. But I kept telling myself to remove those bad thinkings, I know things always turn around for me, it just does, and I am thankful for that. Okay, you may wonder what happened last week. I lost 1 deal, it fell through, buyer backed out last minute, a week before closing. Another buyer is pre-approved, finally, decided not to buy, not sure what she wants to do herself. On the bright side, I still have some one working with and a deal going on, but the thought of losing 2 in one week doesn't set very well with my system. ugh.
There are many things out of our control, no matter what we do. It is just facts of life. But what we can do is try to do our best to move forward. I know it is easy to say than done. I am not a motivational speaker, but my personal experience is enough to make me an "expert" for myself, at least. I don't like to tell pity stories to make others feel sorry for me, but my experience from my life early on taught me lots of things that I need for this tough time in real estate. And now I know why things happened the way it is, there is no finish line in any journey, in my opinion, we are the one who make that decision. To me, the finish line is when I leave the earth.
Back to what we should/can do with some extra time on hand. I am sending emails out to touch base with leads, past clients(even though I always do), make some calls(which I usually don't do, but I am making myself to do it). Look hard and work even harder on different things to get opportunities. My motto is I don't try, I will never know.
Maybe you have a bad month/week, too, but you are not alone. Don't get discouraged by it. Our inner thoughts can play tricks with us sometimes, don't let it fool you. Stay positive and get out to do something, make yourself visible and noticed. You don't try, you will never know.
