A Long Overdue Lunch...

Real Estate Attorney

I had lunch today with one of my oldest and closest friends.  We've known each other for over 25 years and I consider him part of my family.  Today's lunch was overdue.  For a while... we had been meeting every other week... but due to my life's interferences.... it had gone almost five..... too long!

During our conversation today, he discovered that I have a blog and he told me that he'd be searching tonight to take a look at it.  I thought I'd take the opprotunity to let him know how much he is appreciated.

I know I've said thank you before.... but I'm not sure he really understands how much I appreciate his friendship.  I believe that he has been a better friend to me... than I have been to him... and I am grateful to have him in my life.

Thank you my friend.

Thank you for knocking on the door and asking for phone pieces.

Thank you for hiding the license plates!

Thank you for teaching me about music, for helping to form my musical tastes and for all those great concert seats!

Thank you for putting up with all of those college year shenanigans, all of the post college year shenanigans and my current life issues.

Thank you for the always listening with interest without judging.

Thank you for allowing me to vent about life and helping me by giving advice that is usually right on.  I know I don't always listen to it... but you are usually right.

Thank you for being the ear that I so often needed.

Thank you for being there through the years.  You truly are a brother to me and I appreciate having you in my life.

Martin,  What a beautiful post.   Sometimes we let the day-to-day stuff get in the way of what's really important, but with good friends you can pick up where you left off.  Sounds like it was a great day!

Faina - Appreciation of friends, family, and everything in life... will help open doors and keep us grounded.

Jack - I agree and am trying!

Elyse - It often does.  I have some friends I haven't seen in years and am trying to figure out how to see them soon.  As you said, with good friends, its easy to pick up where we left off.

Michelle - Yes they are!

Paige - I find it easier to type it all out than to say some things face to face.  I had given him the 'thanks for being there' but never REALLY told him how much he is appreciated!

John - Thanks

Mike - he is.. thanks.
