ACTIVERAIN......... HOW and WHY......... IT WORKS............

Real Estate Broker/Owner with people first...then business Ran Right Realty 636943 licensed to thrill

Do you remember studying for your license exam? Do you remember taking your license test? Like the famous example of travel brochures never telling the whole story or showing the entire resort place, those prep tests and exams do not prepare you for REAL life in REAL ESTATE...for instance:

Typical Test Question:

Broker B wants Broker A to interact with the purchase of a 1031 exchange with Broker C. The agent for Broker B wants his agent to use his escrow only Broker A, who is the friend of the principals who wont allow it. What is the ethical position of Broker C?.. Then, you choose from 4 multiple choice answers. Now after you have read the question (5 times) and wrote things down (doesn't help), the correct answer going through you mind is F. SHOOT ME.....

Enter ActiveRain...where you are exposed to daily, real life scenarios that agents and other professional come across all the time....... in their "REAL" Real Estate careers.

Real Estate can be like a vast sea of never before explored mysteries, uncharted islands and their inhabitants. It stands to reason that no two Real Estate deals are the same, similar perhaps...... but not the same. Then it would make perfect sense to get as much exposure to as many transactional scenarios just to "UP" your own game. Good for you and good for your clients.

That's exactly what happens when you visit ActiveRain, you get introduced to tens of thousands of these REAL LIFE situations courtesy of the participants of ActiveRain via their posts..... from all walks of life across the United Sates and Canada.....in many fields of endeavor.....all focused on Real Estate...

Every single one of them is exactly what others in the business want to hear and relate to. If that is not enough, as a bonus, you get comments from a myriad of sources that quickly become as valuable as the "post" itself.

The HOST of the POST walks you through the comments keeping you focused, thanking you, and even encouraging you in most cases. The end result is that the poster, the reader, and the commenter grow in knowledge, experience, and gain valuable insights and even friendship while en route. In addition, the ACTIVERAIN team is always coming up with new and appropriate tools for us to improve ourselves with while navigating through all this.

The value of this interaction quickly becomes self-evident and is hard to calculate for this reason: Each person uses his own value system to assess it. That's what makes it even further surprising is that you hear nothing but good reports from everyone attesting to the......value received.

Whether for social interaction, boosting business, keeping current in the Real Estate market, making friends or getting answers to miscellaneous data......the site performs exceptionally well....Please do no take my opinion on any of this......but consider two things. One, try this service out (for free) and get your own experience and two, if tens of thousands of people are lined up outside somewhere trying to get in.....

WELL THAT'S A PRETTY SAFE BET....Yes?

Hi again Richie~  Still laughing at your comment!  You have referred to girl scout cookies to me before in comments!  So I look like a girl scout?  I never was one.  Wanted to be one when I was young. If I had some girl scout cookies, I would share them with you!

Vickie...you discovered my point. The little boy in me would have fun playing with the little girl in you and if we came across a couple of cookies in the process, well that was a perfect day.....that is how simple life can really be.....Point #2..you have a demeanor that promotes "safe" and "wholesome" to me. There is something in my Psyche that does deep math and says...little girls who sell cookies are fun and safe to be around...conclusion: Vickie, poster child for the "thin mints" and sells Real Estate too...

Have to agree with Karen (#14).  It's so comfortable to sit here and learn from our peers, in a casual environment.  Great post!

Kathy.....Karen, you and I like the same things.........the fact that there is no stress or pressure, but excitement and good risk makes you go toward the AR site.......whereas college courses and prep tests culminate into a finale that has you biting your nails, wishing it was over, and never wanting to return that way again. I remember how dull and boring classes were in high school and junior high (for me). It was someones idea of mandatory learning. Well, it wasn't my idea and I couldn't wait for school to end........AR allows you to control your schooling just like your appetite and that is a good thing.....thank you Kathy.....

best

I think I've "received" much more than I've "given" here in the Rain, but I promise to catch up when I have some breathing room. :=)  What a great learning platform this has been for me.

Very well said! I signed up in 2007 and initially wasn't very active, but after attending the Rain Camp last year I realized I was missing out on a very unique opportunity to have an edge over my competition. I learn something new every day on this site. The knowledge, the sharing the comaraderie... I love it!

Lori...there is an interesting statement. It is like going to all you can eat buffet and really loading up and then walking away saying "you beat the house" because you "received much more than I've given". AR is like that. The only way AR stops giving is if you turn off your computer or never log-in. But as soon as you do, the site spits out data, and entices you to participate, and the giver and receiver are brought together. Very good point there Lori....thank you for your quality comment

Cheryl.....is your AR reporter on the scene live.......emceeing a new show sponsored by RE/MAX ..called......"I SAW the PAW"  (a spin off of... I saw the light) a religious pet owners show mixing pets and prayer. Cheryl states..."if it is going to happen, I will be there"....    only on ActiveRain........

Hi Caroline...You bring up a good point.....attending Rain Camp has very positive affects in both the personal and professional realm. I am reminded of the old Frankenstein movies where the mad doctor would try to "jump start" Frankenstein by hooking up electrodes to the two knobs on each side of his face. A Rain Camp session can also "charge up" your Online presence so that you get more bang for your buck out there. Caroline, I will be looking for your post (s).......and thank you for making a good point.......Best

Richie, the education is great, and the people are super. The points are an incentive, but Starbucks won't take them in exchange for a cup of coffee.

A bigger thing that people are here for is business, in the form of people contacting them to buy or sell a home, or referrals.

I have learned a lot on AR, but am still not getting business although I work hard on my blogs and do a lot of hyper local posting using techniques suggested by various guru's.

I'm willing to give it more time, but after a certain amount of time without any monetary gain, I'll have to change my modus operandi.

Hi Bill....very valid point you are making. Keep in mind that even if you hired a search engine optimization wizard, that does not guarantee a result for your business. I got a call out of the blue more than once just from being online. I do know that after a while, if your name or what you do..... comes up enough, you cannot help but benefit. Being online is an interesting thing. It reminds me of the early advertising days that all businesses went through for many many years. The public relations firms, which dominated Wall Street, would charge you dearly to promote and support the continued growth of your business. The closing statement to a potential client to get you to sign up was...you have to advertise because everyone else is doing it. If you don't do it, you will be passed over. You must participate was the pitch...and companies did... to the tune of billions of dollars (or more). So it is today. If we do not have an online presence, then we most definitely will not be found when the potential client is considering hiring someone. AR is about as good as it gets to accomplish this.....Your statement of and I quote: I am willing to give it more time" reminds us that perhaps that is all we can do........thank you Bill and I hear you......I am monitoring it too

Erica.... I was the agent you are speaking of. I remember a fellow agent raved about the ActiveRain site and how she was impressed beyond words......I thought, she is trying to sell me something and became guarded and indifferent, but I heard everything she said. Months passed and in a free moment, I looked it up just for the heck of it. I liked what I saw. It was intriguing. I saw where you can sign up and jump in for FREE and the rest is history. MY POINT: We come when we are ready. The horse drinks when it is thirsty. When the student is willing, the master appears, when we are tired of failing, we look into "new" ways because the old isn't working and on and on. Erica, it is true when you say "they are missing out", but just for a time. I remember when Google started out. I used nothing but them and had a friend that said..."it will never catch on". He actually told me years later that I was right and he was wrong and how could he have missed that? Easy, you weren't ready and I was.......So it is with ActiveRain...come when you are ready......and then be prepared to stay a while......Thank you Erica.......

Richie - you nailed it, just because you have a new license does not mean your ready for this business. AR is the next best thing to a mentor you can find...

Brent & Deb..........You nailed it!...... Very good sweet and to the point reality shot right on target subject comment. I actually thought (before I got licensed) that a Real Estate license was a license to make $$$$. After I got licensed, I realized it was a license to learn a new trade which involved hard work, experience and lots of help and support. I said it earlier B&D, that if ActiveRain was around back then, I would have had some very significant results SOONER rather than later. You said it best again, so I will quote you...."AR is the next best thing to a mentor you can find" says Brent & Deb @ RE/MAX Four Corners. Thanks a bunch!

Keep Roland Roland Roland......Most accurate point with your comment. The famous learning curve and how all must travel it... in all things. It spares no one. But you brought up a key point. ActiveRain is the "bullet train" that travels the Real Estate express way......and stops where you want it, and starts when you want it when you want it. That is pretty good value to offer people in a recession...wouldn't you say...? The value of the post went up due to your comment Roland.....thanks for coming by
