I have received some very nice hits on my first-ever blog about converting hits to customers. They certainly have left me wanting to blog more and learn more. Thus, this follow-up blog.
Several comments welcomed me to ActiveRain and the art of blogging. Those were my "feel-good" comments. Then there were some specific tips -- those were the "We're here to help" comments. Both of these stirred me up to dig deeper. But then, there was a somewhat alarming comment. That was the one that said it took somewhere between 500 and 750 hits to make one customer. Geez? Is this for real?
I then added my own inquiry, the gist of which was something like this, "Does anyone get enough hits in enough time to make enough customers to make a living in enough time before they die?"
Unlike many of you, I am not a realtor. I am marketing closing gifts - very nice ones I might add - at www.wevemovedgifts.com. My average sale price point is nowhere close to the commission on a house. Thus, I need volume and lots of it. At a minimum of 500 hits to potentially make one customer, I'm in trouble.
Obviously, I do more than just blog. Like you, I have to call on people, make presentations, donate items to auctions, etc. to market my products. But I would like to understand what numbers of hits people on ActiveRain are getting on their websites. Perhaps a little historical perspective might help as well. For instance, how much have your hits grown over a specific period of time.
Bottom line...I want you to give me more "feel good" comments that all of this leads to something. I need all the motivation I can get.
