Global warming is no longer a speculative term, and in order to correct our environment, we all need to pitch in. Remember, you eat an elephant a bite at a time, and if we all take little bites out of our carbon dioxide usage, we're bound to have an effect. National Geographic Magazine's June issue gives some excellent websites to calculate your current energy use. Try these sites - they're listed below.
Also, here's some interesting facts the magazine noted. If you recycle glass, plastic and paper, you will save 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide, 800 pounds if you take the bus to work, 720 if you line-dry half your laundry loads instead of using the dry, 700 pounds if you maintain a tight seal on your frig door and keep the coils clean, and 55 pounds if you replace your 75-watt incandescent lightbulbs with a 20 watt compact fluorescent bulb. Is there something there that you can incorporate?

There's a million little ways we can all help. Do you recycle your newspapers? What about your aluminum cans? Bottles? These are simple little changes that can make a big difference. I don't think there is anyone who thinks that global warming is a joke anymore, the evidence is overwhelming. So rather than sit around and worry about it, start taking action.
