I am not going to lie, I have been counting down since August 1st (perhaps even a bit before that).  My kids go back to school in 12 days and I AM READY!!  Okay, stop judging, its not for the reason you think.

I really do love spending time with my kids, they are tons of fun, but during the summer we lose all sense of schedule and routine.  I know I am partly to blame (okay totally to blame) but between summer activities, camps, visits to grandparents and the other miscellaneous summer distractions, I just can't seem to stick to any semblance of a routine

I NEED ROUTINE!!

I thrive on schedules, list-making and planning (hey, I was a teacher for nine years).  Despite all of the craziness the summer has brought me, I have seen my best production ever during the past few months! I am also super excited about what I have going for the rest of 2010 and beyond but quite frankly, I am pooped!

I feel like I have been in a three ring circus juggling flaming torches for 2 months and I would really like to put a few of the torches down and be able to focus on just one at a time (that torch being my business torch)!  Sorry that's a pretty bad analogy but like I said earlier...I am pooped...give me a break!

As previously stated, please don't take it the wrong way, I love my kids and I love summer fun but I am so ready to get back on my schedule and get the kids back on theirs.  There is so much great stuff happening in our world of real estate right now and I am ready to put away the flip flops and get my game face on!

Who's with me??

Come on Fall....I am ready for ya!

Oh my gosh...I'm right there with you.  I just told my mom I would be so happy when school starts again.  If that makes me a bad mom, sorry!  I don't think so.  I would just like to keep my sanity!

Jeanna - No, you are not a bad Mom! Yesterday was our first day of school and all over metropolitan Atlanta Moms and Dads are breathing sighs of relief.

By the way, the visual this sentence of yours inspired had me laughing out loud!  -  "I feel like I have been in a three ring circus juggling flaming torches for 2 months"

I will say that I have never been a mom that is ready for school... I also have always stayed home.... This summer has become a eye opener for me.  If there has ever been a time in my life that I have wanted structure... this is it!  I will honestly say I am anticipating the start of classes only because of the structure... I am sure that I will be excited for my kids to have summer vacation next year. :)

Maria - That is the hardest part about summer for me every year!  I live by structure and the summer usually starts to get to me by about mid July...just due to lack of routine and structure!! :-) I know I'll be ready for summer again in about 9 months!

Jeanna, kids get bored after about two weeks of summer and they start driving you and themselves crazy, this summer thing is not good for anyone but the teachers, but who would ever go into teaching if they did not get summers off?

Most of my friends have kids approaching or in HS - but even they are really ready for fall.  I don't think that makes you a bad Mom...

We are, we are...  We even did a story with one of the local TV stations on the impact of having the children home for the summer. Our point was how you have to schedule time with your spouse away from the children.  It was backed up with a local professional.

The station runs the story and title it, "No Sex in the Summer."

Note to self--always get the title before you agree to shoot the segment...

For me it just means watching my speed and cell phone use in those school zones.
