FHA POSTPONES IMPLEMENTATION OF CHANGES

ONE MONTH REPRIEVE FOR NEW FHA MORTGAGE INSURANCE PREMIUM STRUCTURE

We were advised today that the new date for implentation of the mortgage insurance changes will not take effect until October 4, 2010 in order to have additional time to prepare all documentation and systems in working order to accept the changes.

This change will give buyers additional time to make purchases prior to the changeover.  They won't have to close by this date but they will be required to have a ratified contract and an FHA Case number must be pulled and obtained prior to the October 4, 2010 changeover date.  We'd recommend at least a 5 day prior committment as we'll expect many case numbers to be pulled as the date gets closer.  Often case numbers can take at least a day and possibly more under certain circumstances.

We'll keep you posted if any other changes come down the pike.

Have a great week!

Great information. Granted this will probably all change again in a week or two, but the info is very useful.

A little extra time to change their minds probably but gives a few buyers an extra chance before things change.
