Fish & Chips in Oakbay, Estevan Village - a mini review by Stephen Foster ;-)

So I was getting ready to make dinner tonight for my family as well as my wifes family who are visiting from NewFoundland!  Hmm where to go what to eat.  One of our first choices on a beautiful warm evening in OakBay is to head down to Estevan Village where there is ample parking, low traffic, close to the Willows beach and Willows Park and of course the best Fish & Chips around.....

Willows Galley!

Yes the staff at the Galley are always friendly and accommodating in their tight quarters, where they have a small menu but diverse enough to satisfy the many dietary requirements of the general population of this neck of the woods! 

The Burgers are great, but I am partial to the Fish & Chips along with the Yam fries..don't forget to ask for the mildly spicy mayonnaise for the fries!

There are a few seats inside where you can watch the cooks work and catch the news or sports on the wall hung television, or head outside to the long picnic tables where it is hard not to get into a conversation with the people you are rubbing elbows with!

We were concerned that our Nfld guests would laugh at the sight of Fish & Chips on the West Coast...but lo and behold they ate and didn't complain one bit..except maybe for the lack of Rum!

Icecream & Milkshakes for desert.. (the Kids) and we were off to Willows Park to work off the sugar rush before bed!

Estevan Village in Oak Bay is a great family neighbourhood & one of my favourites as there is not much through traffic and all the homes have generous sized lots, many with lanes running through the back of them. If tree lined streets with the sound of children playing are your thing, then come on down to the Estevan Village for a visit and enjoy the shops & local ambiance of the neighbourhood.
