New agent CBR

By
Real Estate Agent with Better Homes and Gardens/ Rand Realty

Last week I just finished the CBR course (Certified Buyers Representative).  I found it very informative and since I am a new agent I will try and put what I learned into practice.  Being in this profession for 1 year I can see the advantages of being a CBR.  However I have been told that if you want to make money in real estate you must find people who want to list their homes for sale.  So this is my dilemma do I put most of my time into finding buyers and less time into finding sellers?

Thank You;

Tom Roberts CBR

Tom, in my opinion and from 30 years in the real estate industry, I would say if you practice what you have learned in the CBR course, you'll be in the top 20% of agents already.  I think in the real estate business the 80-20 rule is really 90-10.  Good luck my friend.

I'm not sure what the CBR course taught (but I'm sure it was really good),  I like to advertise to how the market is going.  If you want to try to attract buyers, allign yourself with a good loan officer and title company that can give you free information for your clients and advertise that.  If you want to be like everyone else (myself included), Go for the listings and usually buyers come from them as well.  Just my simple perspective, AR has people much smarter than I who may be of more help.

Thank You both for your comments. As I stated I just got my license last summer and I want to make this career change as profitable as possible.
