New passenger rail line into NYC will increase value of nearby homesThe NJ-NY-CT Regional Plan Association released information recently that indicates that homes near future ARC stations will rise in value.  That would be the Access to the Region's Core Project (ARC) or the new trans-Hudson passenger rail tunnel being built by NJ Transit and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

The RPA is predicting that homes within two miles of the stations will increase by $19,000 on average and homes within walking distance will increase by $29,000 on average.

Cumulatively, this increase in home value will add up to $18 billion!  This will create a higher tax base and potentially "relieve pressure to increase tax reates in these communities".
