Posting to groups where the post content isn't 100% correct

When blogging, content is important, on active rain content should be made to fit the group you are posting to... or should it?

Why not set up a group first and then write about what you want to write about!!

The group system is great, but I got myself into a little trouble recently by posting to a group about content that was probably only 90% relevant to the group....i got comments and readers (all positive) until one set of comments was from (unknown to me at the time) was from the creator of the group who was scathing of the post!!

We all make the odd mistake in blogging, however that is what makes it interesting...

I suppose what I could be saying is that, be careful what groups you join and what you post on there!

I too have been guilty of posting wrong things to wrong groups.  However the person who pointed it out to me was very gracious about doing so.  We live, We learn.

I to have been guilty... I personally felt the way I was "corrected" was rather rude. Some of us will make mistakes... especially newbies. If we want this to be a quality let's try to work with and educate those who make mistakes not run them off with our rudeness... I have actually quit a few groups because of how rude they were when I first got started.

Howdy

I have been told that I have been guity of it before. If someone is rude to me. It only makes me want to stay even more. Do not ever let anyone make you quit anything.

Have a good one

The group leader should not be "scathing". Nor should a moderator. Everyone makes mistakes. Sometimes, though, the same posters keep posting in the wrong groups and the people who are moderating (for free) have to take time out of their lives to keep removing posts. We would all just like to log in and post or comment. I have seen many people start their own groups in order to post. This is what Active Rain is all about. Glad you learned and wrote this post to help others:)
