There are a few things a new agent who just passed their real estate exam and are now in search for a broker need to look for.
Some Brokerages offer you classes to help you pass your test. After that some companies require desk time - which may require you be in the office a specific amount of time.
Some Brokerages offer you the opportunity to "mirror" more seasoned agents.
Some Brokerages giver you the opportunity to do Open Houses. Some companies charge desk fees and branding fees, etc. They can be either paid at the close of escrow or charged to you whether or not you generate any business.
Some Brokerages are multi-leveling marketing companies where if you bring in agents you are paid part of their commissions.
Passing the test is only the beginning:
You would want to know if and how the company is going to market you, what type of agent you are going to be (buyers agent, listing agent, etc). What type of training the company is going to offer you. Also, remember as an agent to use your negotiation skills. Decide whether or not you are going to be full or part time and commit to that. Be disciple, and make time for rest and reflection, and planning. If you are not a team player and prefer to fly solo...its great so long as you are with the right company. Interview brokerages until you find the one for you.
As a new agent you may not know whats available to you unless you do your research.
Let me know your thoughts!!
