THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Front Range Properties

I love the concept of thinking outside the box. I am sure you have seen the picture of the 9 dots perfectly lined up and you are challenged to connect the dots without lifting your pen and without retracing your steps.

The first time I was asked to solve this problem, I could not do it, and when I was shown the solution, a whole new world of possibilities opened up for me. There are so many other exercises like this, but this was the 1st one I was introduced to, and I have never forgotten it! It seems that successful entrepreneurs think outside the box, and i

t seems that great ideas are born outside the box.

So, can you be successful inside the box? Can great ideas be born inside the box? Let me know what you think about that, or send me some examples of great inside and outside the box thinking.

I am attaching a link to a short video a friend of mine posted on Facebook. It is an example of wonderful innovative thinking and use of today's technology. Hope you enjoy it, and please let me know what you think.

And here is my final question: "How has thinking outside the box served you in life?"

There is no spoon. It's hard to change your way of thinking, but probems solving requires an active mind, not one that just follows along with conventional thinking.

Currently I need to do so with my newly acquired last name, Sparks. I have been trying to come up with some catchy advertising lingo and keep hitting a wall. I will go OUTSIDE the box. Thanks for the post.

Myriam,

Every day we come up with new ideas and new paradigms.  It is fun to shift points of views and to realize you need to take into account a lot before making judgments or decisions.

Myriam, I loved the clip, thanks for sharing. My thoughts on the subject, when you see from inside the box your view is limited, when seeing from outside the box there is no limit to what you can see or accomplish.

Best regards, Gary
