I Got a Lead from Active Rain Without Blogging. As Realtors we spend a lot of time figuring out where our business is coming from, where our next lead is coming from - if business will come. Sometimes our business comes from places we are not expecting. Sometimes maybe we shouldn't think too much about where our business will come from.
I hadn't really thought about blogging in this way, though. As many of us do, I try to incorporate blogs about local communities. For my most recent blog I decided to go take a few additional pictures in a community where I have a few pictures of amenities I use with listings there. I pulled into a gated parking lot, asked the gate attendant if it would be alright if I took a few pictures, which he agreed to. As I was returning to my car, the gate attendant's Mom (she was bringing her son dinner-must be his summer job) came up to me, asked me about the market and told me that they are planning a move and that she was impressed with my proactiveness, card exchanged .......
This experience revealed two opportunities to me - that by my taking pictures for my blog made it possible for me to prospect and demonstrate that I try to showcase what a community has to offer AND then to follow-up with information directing them to my blog and showing them how blogging adds to internet presence - another Active Rain win.
