Cost of Short Sales Core Logive Research StudyCore Logic, a leading provider of consumer research and real estate information recently published a study on The Cost of Short Sales.  Core Logic studied over 250,000 short sales over the past two years and report their findings in order to determine the trends, risks and opportunites that a short sale has on the mortgage industry and participants in the industry. 

They found that shortsales have triples since 2008, and more than half are in California, Florida, Texas and Arizonia.  Short sale Distribution by State 2010

It's going to be some time before the real estate market completely stablizes, we unload the short sale inventory, and foreclosures do not become the norm.  Thank you for sharing your blog.

Short sales will dominate the market for more than five to ten years, in our opinion. Lenders, agents and sellers need to get used to it.

Now is probably a good time to get certified.  The only problem is, it seems that this is an ever changing market, and banks are just now starting to get the hang of it.
