Caroline Street Key West Florida

I pass this home on Caroline Street everyday as I zip around Key West.  There are a lot of unusual things to see in Key West.

When my client Danny Hughes was on the island to see his new home for the first time after buying it 2 weeks ago he snapped this photo.  For a moment I realized how quirky Key West is.

If you live almost anywhere else in the United States a bike on the outside of the balcony of a home on the second floor is a little different.

As I drove around Key West today I noticed things that I see everyday for the first time and knew I had to share Danny's picture.

Hi Rebecca,

Security, I hadn't thought of that!  Finally a logical explanation!

Hi Bruce,

Haahahaha!  At what point does someone think, "Gee, It would be a good idea to hold my bike out over the street and chain it to the outside of the balcony!" and it makes sense to them?  Imagine the other random thoughts they are having!

This is in historic Old Town Key West.  It's just off of Duval Street and close to the highest part of the island.  I don't think it's ever flooded here, but maybe he doesn't know that?  Way to think out of the box Bruce!

Hi Carol,

You know you live in a special place when it's more common to see a dog, a parrot or chickens digging in the yard of popular outdoor dining restaurant than to see a man in a suit or a lady in high heels!

Maya - How cool is that?  I agree that Key West has a lot of unusual things to see.  I love it there and can't wait to come back and visit!  You are lucky to be living in paradise : )

Maya,

Key West is quite interesting, and I love the shot.  Love the story of the parrot or chicken digging, is it a signal that the restaurant has great food?
