Green Lake is Hot

In This Post

Green Lake is hot.

The Green Lake neighborhood of Seattle is hot today, and when it is hot, the wading pool gets filled and children from all around gather to cool off in the waters of Seattle's most visited park.

Green Lake

This morning I walked from my office over to the pool as it was being filled. Day care centers and summer camps were already assembling in the grassy areas nearby, awaiting the official "Okay" to go splash in the cool waters. Later they'll enjoy picnics and perhaps a walk around the lake, and another dip in the water.

The Green Lake neighborhood is not experiencing the doldrums in the real estate market we often see in the ot summer months. There are currently 99 single family homes listed, and there are 28 more currently under contract. Over the past 30 days there have been 25 single family homes sold in the hood, or an absorption rate of 4. Four is essentially a seller's market, but it is important to note that the seller has to make the transaction possible by meeting the market with his asking price.

Glenn - This is good information for anyone looking in the green lake area. Sellers market...these folks better get their offers to purchase in because I think it may get harder to buy later!

Nevin -  Green Lake is a marketplace that has consistently sold well for the 25 years I've been here.
