To say I’ve known the owners of Canyon Exchange in Beaverton, Oregon a long time might be an understatement. I’ve been going to their establishment for 20 years now. They met my wife Samantha before she was my wife, they have watched my kids grow up since birth and have actually become friends.

Good ole Boss Man, with his wife Jane, are the owner-operators of Canyon Exchange and with the help of their number one and only employee Phillip, they have been successfully saving money for Beaverton, Oregon, residents for 20 years now.

Canyon Exchange

I met the team at Canyon exchange when I was wee lad of 20 years old and had my own wedding DJ business in the Portland area. I would go in to Canyon exchange, usually twice a week looking for new CD’s that I could add to my collection. Sometimes Boss man would set aside a CD or two for me knowing that I would want it. (This was long before file sharing came along)

Even though the business of DJ-ing was changing because of illegal file sharing, I stuck it out and continued to buy CDs until it became too expensive and I just couldn’t compete with the young guys who would steal music. That was when I retired and sold the business, I did miss the DJ business, but I wasn’t going to stop going to Canyon Exchange because I had built a friendship with these wonderful people.

They had everything you could possible think of there at Canyon Exchange. (Guitars, Musical Equipment, Video Games, CDs, Movies & DVDs, Jewelry, Guns and even tools in all sizes!) If you come in, make sure you say hi to boss man and if you can get him to laugh, enjoy as I always did enjoy hearing it. It is infectious.

I’ve bought many, many games there for the kids over the years and they have always backed their products. Even in a couple situations they didn’t start the warranty until Christmas day knowing that the gift was going to be hidden in a closet for a few weeks before being opened.

Canyon Exchange

If you are looking to sell stuff, they always give you a fair deal! I’ve sold them many CD’s (I didn’t need or want the rap CD’s in the house after retiring) as well as a couple camera lenses that were no longer needed. So, if you are looking to make some extra money, but don’t want to have a garage sale, come see Jane or Phillip in the back as she will certainly give you the most amount of money for your items.

If you are in Beaverton on Canyon Road, stop off and say hi to the crew at Canyon Exchange you will be glad you did! If you are looking to relocate to Oregon and don’t want to haul all your stuff cross country, Canyon Exchange is a great place to replace those items you left behind for lack of room in the truck.

I love places like this... a very similar place in Renton, I bought several bicycles for the kids and when they out grew them a couple of times we brought them back and traded up.

Pretty cool highlights for Canyon Exchange, Todd!  We have a place like that here and I get SO much stuff from there!  With a 10 year old you never know if the latest interest is going to be just a fad or not so we always start out used.

Todd it is so nice to have a place like that.  So many towns no longer have small stores that have been around for 20 years.  I love these types of places because of the relationships that are developed.
