Jumping Jack Flash in Oklahoma

Mortgage and Lending with SUNSTREET MORTGAGE, LLC (BK-0907366, NMLS 145171) NMLS 223495

Southeastern Oklahoma is home to some very rocky soil.  Ranchers anchor their long barbed wire fencelines with "rock posts" because it's a whole lot easier than sinking anchor posts.

It's cheaper, too.  You don't have to buy the rocks; you just pick them up.

My friend Dick Carson in Caddo has taken this to a whole 'nother level.  He makes art out of his rock posts with different colored stone.

He calls this one "Jack Flash."

If you've seen rock posts like this, you may have been in Caddo once or twice.

Judi Barrett over in Idabel knows Oklahoma real estate.  Check out her Active Rain profile, and call her if you're looking for a ranch (big or small.)

I'd love for you to send me photos of other rock posts if you have them.  Who knows, they might end up as a feature in my blog posts!

Mike - Now that's a really neat and unique rock posts.  I remember when 'way back' when we first started seeing those, but never saw one like this one!  It will be interesting to see what kind of pics you get.  Thanks for the link and good words!

Nice piece of local color, Mike.

And folks always find a way to elaborate on the mundane, don't they?

Wow.............I live in SW Oklahoma and I've never seen that.   But it looks like a great idea and I might just have to try it.  We've got a lot of land and several generations of us have picked up rocks out of fields.   Very cool post.

Life is interesting and surprising!  Who knows what's behind the gate?
And I've been told I have rocks in my head.
