As RE Agents let's please try and be as "Honest" with our "Clients as possible!

To many times I see and hear about RE Agents that twist facts in order to make the deal and I would like to ask these Agents if they would like if someone did that to them?

In order to make the deal and put food on their tables they will sometimes do and say things that are unethical. I am a strong believer in "What comes around Goes around" and some actions we play on others will come back some day and bite us in the ASS!

So please be as "Honest" as you can with your clients and tell them the "Truth" don't look at them and lie to them like our "Government, Attorneys and some of the the other crooked people around the world.

Please be nice, honest and treat your clients how you would like to be treated, life is short and we don't want bad "Karma" hanging around us because we wanted to make a extra buck.

Hi VB, you are so right. And by the way, omission is a lie too.

Great post Robert.  And part of being honest is setting expectations with your customer.  Laying out the process and pitfalls helps the buyer/seller to prepare for the worse and hope for the best.  A win/win scenerio for both you and your customer.

VB, Don't know any other way to do it!  And for those that lie or stretch the truth, do you have enough brain cells to back it up so you keep your stories straight!  One little slip and you could be thrashed.

I agree - too many times, agents focus on the wrong facet of the transaction, when we shoud all focus on helping our clients achieve their goals, with the benefit of our expertise.

Ours is a litigious business, plus their is the fineable ethics component. Why would someone want to set themselves up for that mess?

Great message Robert.  The truth sometimes hurts but it is the only way to go.  I have been surprised by telling what I thought would be a deal breaker and all was OK.

I think we all have seen dishonest, dishonorable agents, just like any profession--there are some bad apples.  I would rather lose a client than feel the need to be dishonest with them...not worth it!

Good advice Bob, it's very important for people to be able to trust their Realtor.  It's a huge investment they are taking on, and they want to make sure they think it through and have the facts they need to make the right decision.

Hello Gita and thanks for stopping by and you have a wonderful weekend also.

Bob & Sue you are so right a Win-Win situation and a wonderful comment.

Hello Liz & Bill and if they had enough brain cells they would just tell the Truth!

And Carol a wonderful comment and you know exactly what I a taking about in my comment.

Well Carol I don't know why some Agents would want to set themselves up like this but for some odd reason they do.

Hello Joan and I really like your comment ...

If you are always truthful, clients will not only be back, but bring friends and family.   They will know they can always trust you!   Great post!

Robert:  The dishonest ones are dishonest with their profiles.  One agent in my area has a house that she was the "Selling" agent on listed on her profile as an Active listing.  I called her out on it and she made some excuse that it was on there by mistake.  If the public really checks into agents they can usually tell that a profile is falsified....and that's the beginning!

Vegas Bob, no matter what industry someone is in, when dealing with folks. They sure should be truthful. When a client has been layed to, they don't usually just talk about it being the one that did it. But include the over all industry as being a part of it.

Have a good one
