Goshen is one of the focal points of Orange County; the area offers homebuyers country charm in the town or village Victorian flair. The bonus is easy to New York City. Once a major heart of Standardbred racing industry, the Harness Racing Museum, Historic Race Track, and Hall of Fame of the Trotter are a must visit for a memorable, all age, entertaining trip. The architecture of the historic homes in the village is reminiscent of stepping back in time to another era, well worth touring the streets. Village life includes convenient walking access to dining, quaint shops, Heritage Trail (walking/bike), library, banks, businesses, and much more! The Orange County Government Center is centrally located in the village.
Horse, dairy, and produce farms are linked with the town of Goshen, along with residential communities, and the area is still rich in open space. Agriculture friendly zoning for small farm venues with elbowroom for those who just need a little more land. Horses and livestock are common in this area so close to Orange County Park for picnic areas, bird sanctuary, golf, ice-skating, winter activities, and local horse shows. The seasonal Farmers Market for local produce is every Friday morning in the center of the village. Real Estate varies in pricing and selection.
The location of Goshen is an easy commute to just about all-major locations. Stewart Airport is virtually only 20 minutes away. Metro North is easy to get to from the area. NYS Rt. 17 and Rt. 84 are close to take you to your destination. New York City and New Jersey are just over an hour drive. This is very desirable to our area residents, who still want to catch a Broadway show, dinner, or a ball game, and come back home to their nest. The area has plenty of shopping! The Woodbury Commons, area malls, and even local shops and craftsmen are at your disposal. Parks and sports are equally easy to find, and there is much to do in the area. Fine dining is also not difficult to find if you choose not to travel, so please visit will make your experience delectable! Area wineries, such as Brotherhood Winery in near by Washingtonville, offer a real taste of the area too!
My home has been Orange County, in Washingtonville, for over 45 years, and as a local Realtor in the area, I love my job assisting people in buying or selling in our beautiful Hudson Valley. As a lifetime resident of this community, and I mean community in every sense of the word, the area truly Welcomes You. So, please come and visit.
