Get ready for another weekend of fun at Sloss Furnaces! We LOVE food and music in Birmingham!
Now in it's 6th year, Stokin' The Fire BBQ and Music Festival is offering VIP passes for $30 (these must be purchased in advance). Click on the link for details and benefits. A schedule of events and costs for various activities can be found here.
The Hog Wild Music Stage will be jamming Friday night with the sounds of Possum, Locust Fork and Wet Willie. Saturday's lineup features The Jacks, Erin Mitchell, Young Buffalo, The Raygun Administration, Culture Dred and Junior Brown. Click here for the entertainment schedule.
The BBQ cook teams are competing for cash prizes and trophies which are hand made and created by the Sloss Furnaces metal artists. The People's Choice Competition is back this year, giving you a chance to taste and cast your vote for your favorite team. The awards ceremony will be Saturday at 7:15 PM on the Hog Wild Music Stage.
If you are a beer lover you can sample high gravity beers that will be offered by the Free The Hops cook team.
Don't forget the kids! There will be plenty of things for them to do.....lots of games and crafts, a live DJ and misting tents to help cool things down.
In addition to all this there will also be Cajun Dance instruction, you can create a cast iron tile at the Metal Arts Expo, and there will be plenty of food and beverage vendors.
