Beware of tow trucks on Newport Avenue
in Ocean Beach on Wednesday afternoons

Call Jim Frimmer for all your San Diego County real estate needsOne of the best Farmers' Markets in San Diego County is out in Ocean Beach on Newport Avenue on Wednesday afternoons.

Unfortunately, Newport Avenue is Ocean Beach's main street, and a high-traffic tourist destination as well, so there are lots of cars parked there at all hours of the day.

Call Jim Frimmer for all your San Diego County real estate needsIf you park on Newport Avenue on Wednesday afternoons, the tow trucks are out in force beginning at 2:30 p.m. Their goal is to have Newport Avenue cleared between Cable and Bacon Streets for the Farmers' Market.

Getting your car back in San Diego after it has been towed can be very expensive, sometimes up to $600, which includes the towing charge, storage charge by the towing company, cost to get to where your car has been towed (usually many, many miles away), and the parking ticket from the City for parking in a no parking zone.

OMG  $ 600 to get your car back.. Now it seems for a few hours they should give consumers a break during the farmer's market.

Great info. I do not like paying $600 when I already pay up the wazoo in marketing costs (at least this is an investment). Your picture made front page on my new blog post. Check it out. I love the google me app you put on.

$600? now that's one big hole in your pocket just to get a car back. Hope many watch out for this. I'm sure no one like to pay that much for such a thing

Jim, that is quite a racket!  That is a huge bill just to get your car back.  If I were something to do with the farmer's market, I think that I would be complaining to someone about this!  The bad publicity can't be be good advertising for the market!

Hey, everyone!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

I'm trying to follow up on these older posts like this one to see if anyone had any questions or if I really need to respond to anyone's comments.

I will read all the comments and respond to any that need a response, but since this post is rather old, rather than making comments here in my post to each and every one of you, I'll just let everyone know that I have read all the comments and if there are any questions, I'll answer those in comments below this one. Otherwise I'll simply post this comment and then head over to your blogs soon to visit and do some reading and commenting. I hope you'll have a nice welcome mat out for me!

Don't forget to let your cat come out to play with all the other ActiveRain kitties. Your cat-friendly dogs can come, too!

If you need a great cat book, get yourself a copy of Peg Silloway's The Cat Lover's Book of Days.

Hope all is well with everyone.
