Beware of tow trucks on Newport Avenue
in Ocean Beach on Wednesday afternoons

One of the best Farmers' Markets in San Diego County is out in Ocean Beach on Newport Avenue on Wednesday afternoons.

Unfortunately, Newport Avenue is Ocean Beach's main street, and a high-traffic tourist destination as well, so there are lots of cars parked there at all hours of the day.

If you park on Newport Avenue on Wednesday afternoons, the tow trucks are out in force beginning at 2:30 p.m. Their goal is to have Newport Avenue cleared between Cable and Bacon Streets for the Farmers' Market.

Getting your car back in San Diego after it has been towed can be very expensive, sometimes up to $600, which includes the towing charge, storage charge by the towing company, cost to get to where your car has been towed (usually many, many miles away), and the parking ticket from the City for parking in a no parking zone.
