Colorado Golf Living- Pradera
I have had the good fortune to play many of the 250+ golf courses in Colorado and have had the pleasure of playing a handful of Jim Engh's golf courses, I have to say Pradera is one of my favorites. Jim Engh designed courses always add an element of fun that you do not find on many courses, they are memorable, unique and you could play the same course 50 times and find a new characteristic each time you play. According to the web site "Jim has designed the golf course at Pradera to be a blend of "Irish" and "Modern" influences. About a third of the holes are predominantly Irish in character, with rolling terrain, open fairway pods to hit to, light and wispy prairie grass roughs, pot bunkers, and an overall links feeling. Other holes, include ponds, cattails, wetlands, and layouts that make them more modern and "Americanized." The two elements are blended together into a striking "Irish-Modern course with a Colorado twist." I can honestly say after playing the course, on many of the holes I felt like I was in Ireland, far, far away from America and yet just 20 minutes southeast of the Denver Tech Center.
Pradera is a private golf course that opened for play in 2005 and measures 7,300 yards from the back tees. With 5 sets of tees and several tee combinations, there is something for everyone.
The Club at Pradera offers year-round recreation, dining and camaraderie, tennis courts, a fitness center, casual and fine cuisine, locker rooms, lounges, and a pro shop. Pradera also offers a community center that features a competition-size pool, spray play area and a sun deck, a catering kitchen and party room. The surrounding park has plenty for the young Pradera residents, with a tot lot, basketball/inline hockey court, two soccer/lacrosse fields and a baseball/softball field. A trail system winds throughout the community's open spaces, providing residents with panoramic views and an abundant variety of hikes and bike rides.
Pradera has 62 homes currently on the market ranging in price form $350-2.15M and was home to the 2005 Parade of Homes that features many of Colorado's top builders. New construction at Pradera begins with your choice of lots ranging in size from ¼ acre to 1-3 acres and a choice of 13 custom homebuilders with prices ranging from $388-$464K for single family, golf villas from $399-612K, semi- custom homes in the mid $600s and custom homes with a $958-1.4M price range.
