Video for the Blog Brawl - Realtor Marketing in Today's Market

It's official.  Week 2 Blog Brawl is on!  I had stiff competition last week from Debe Maxwell.  Debe prevailed so I'm really trying to tune it up this week.  

There has been a lot of discussion regarding the content of a video submission. What counts? What doesn't?  

This video attempts to incorporate several key elements of a video that markets a property: 

 

  • True video shots
  • Voice over(Yes I decided on the content beforehand because I think it's more professional)
  • A few still shots thrown in for fun
  • My video program allows backlinks to my website and a capture program which is unique to most video providers

 

 

I know.  It's certainly not easy.  I've been shooting video for several years and think I'm finally "getting it".  If you have any questions feel free to pose them here.  I'd love to help.

A beautiful job well done!!  So smooth on the true video and I know you used a tripod as I saw you reflected in the front door.  No bouncing and jerking around, fantastic!  What video camera was used?

I have a Kodak Zi8 and a JVC Everio HDD, neither of which I have really learned to use as yet I'm ashamed to say.  Currently I'm learning to use a new Nikon D3000 which I think I'll really like after figuring out a few things.

Your voice over was great which I gather you added in when using the editing software.  Which video software do you use?

What a beautiful property and you have certainly done it justice.  I'm sure the sellers are very pleased.

I missed Debe's entry so now I'll have to check out hers.

I use the Sony Cybershot video 10.2 Megapixels, and my software program uploads HD so the video is crystal clear.  So many programs are used by Youtube and the clarity isn't there. 

 

I wasn't happy with the shutter clicks- I'm going to call Mixpo, my software provider, about how to fix that.  

 

You will also see the difference in the still shots vs. video(Just like w/HD TV Videos).  I'd like to fix that too.  

Other than that - at least I got the camera, video, and voice over working!!

Hi Tracy -- I put my vote in before commenting.

I noticed the "clicks" but felt that was a small issue overall considering the presentation.  Personally on the stills I don't care for those zoom in and out effects.  Maybe one or two.  I've seen tours where every is zooming in and out and makes you dizzy!  Since I have that option when using VisualTour I've asked numerous consumers how they felt re the zoom in and out and not one said they liked it but would rather just have a good picture please.

I'm learning with my Nikon D3000 that the tripod is so important to avoid the "jerkiness" in a photo and I guess it is just as important with the video cameras.  I am very eager to start playing with what I have.

Good luck on the Carolina Blog Brawl -- I think you will be hard to beat this round.
