Moose Monday - Swimming in a Moosely Private Lake in Yellowstone National Park

This is another photo of the breathtaking scenery in Yellowstone National Park during my most recent visit in July 2010.

Moose be nice to have your own private lake to swim in.  Mama moose and baby moose where enjoying the morning swim across the lake.

Breathtaking sceney and moose - Yellowstone National Park - July 2010

Notice the snow caps in July in the background?    The elevation is between 7,000 and 8,000 feet above sea level so the snow is still common on the mountain peaks in July throughout the park.

Happy Moose Monday!

Amazing photo - just beautiful - and it's wonderful to see mama and baby enjoying themselves.

The last time we were in Yellowstone, we were just overwhelmed by how beautiful it is...spectacular place.

So this guy is not a MOOSE, not even close to the size of a moose, but I think his rack is worthy of "brother to the moose" status? And though he did not go swimming in a lake, he "dipped" into the birdbath next door to the house where we were staging, today!  Your catch was  quite spectacular!

Cheryl,

That is nevertheless a good catch too!   Wow, those racks are huge for a deer!   Close enough to be worthy of the "brother of the moose" status.   I can see a moose-wannabe!  :)

Love it Gerry, I think I'm quite envious of that moose right now, looks like fun! Great capture too, just look at that scenery it doesn't get any better than that in my book!

Gerry - I think one of the things that surprises me as I travel around the country, is how different the color of water can be in various ponds, streams, lakes, and oceans.  The color in your picture is one of the more unique shades of blue water I've seen. . .Amazing!
