fishing in the carolinasIn last week's Brunswick Beacon, the sports section was full of fishing pictures (which I prefer over dead deer); however, the experts say local fishing at the Carolina Beaches continues to be affected by the heat.  Can't speak for the professionals but the tourist were having a ball... fishing.  At Oak Island pier, they were catching flounder between 2.8 to over 4 pound flounder, as well as, Black Drum (10 lbs.) and speckled trout just over 3 lbs.  Tourists at Holden Beach had their pictures in the paper with 3-7lbs. flounder.  Ocean Isle Beach tourists were catching Gag Grouper, Spanish Mackerel, Trout, King Mackerel, and flounder.  If you are heading to the beach during the next few weeks and would like to follow the fishing activity, follow Jeffrey Weeks blog for updated fishing reports.
