Phly, Wishing for a quick recovery!
Sounds like we have something in common! Tylenol and up just make me tired. Those who claim some special buzz off Vicodin? I don't get it. The once or twice I've had it prescribed (soccer related of course) it just puts me to sleep. No rainbows and leapin' unicorns at all!
Bill
Ahhhhhh, Dr. DrillandFill! Not my favorite doctor to see. But a good smile goes a long way.
Hope you're feeling better today and you come out of your drug induced coma even better than ever!
Barbara..implants rule..especially for us hockey players from Southie who played pre-facemask days :) Phly..pheel better!!
you're doing pretty well for living in Lidocaineville. Feel better thoon.
Barbara - Thanks for the info! ;) I'm thinking at this point I'm going to go for the total root canal and porcelain crown. But I am going to have them check the other side of my mouth first, because I have a tooth exactly opposite from the one that they just worked on that feels like it is doing the same thing. . . . and If that's the case, extractions and braces it is. *sigh* I have a sneaking suspicion that having braces and a retainer is what caused part of the problem in the first place.
Bill - Thanks! I hate having to take any kind of medication, but last night was really aggravating. It was one of those things where you are trying to do something simple and can't seem to get it right. I was trying to make my pillows comfortable and to my horror I started crying out of frustration! (I rarely cry and it embarrasses me nearly to death when I do.) My very sweet and patient hubby, fixed my pillows, hugged me and said "It's ok babe. It's not your fault, you are on drugs!" ;) I laughed so hard I forgot to be upset. I decided to cut the dose by 3/4 during the day, it hurts a little but at least I'm not a babbling idiot. ;)
LOL!!! Those videos are so funny! It was more like the Mr. Bean one, but just from the stand point of numb lips. Let me tell you what, it's nearly impossible to put on chap stick when your lips are numb! ;)
Craig - LOL! Dr. DrillandFill! ;) That's awesome! I'm doing a lot better today, thanks! . . . . But I'm still stuck eating yogurt! Normally I don't mind it once in a while, but after two days of it my stomach is acting like it thinks my throat's been cut. ;)
Joe - Ah, Hockey! I don't believe there was ever a better sport invented to encourage tooth loss than that one! ;) And today I pheel pretty good! ;) Thanks! ;)
Alan - I believe it's something-codone. . . Whatever it is, it's really hard to stay focused! I keep catching my self staring off in space and fantasizing about nachos ;) *sounding like Daffy Duck* Thanks for the well wishes! ;)
I so feel your pain. I hope you are able to get off the pain meds sooner rather than later. In the meantime, invest in a really good blender and make yourself some yummy treats like smoothies and creamy potato soup.
ahh... good ole hydrocodone... careful, that's a codeine based drug... it'll do strange things to your frontal lobe.
Phly ~ Ouch! Hope you can move on from only eating yogurt soon. Going to the dentist is not my favorite! Feel better.
Robert - I have to go back this coming Thursday and have the rest of my teeth checked. . . . I'll live, I suppose, but that dones not mean I'll be happy about it! ;)
Chris - Thanks! ;) I am going to try getting through today without any pain meds, and so far so good! I really dislike the woozy and disjointed feeling they induce. LOL! I had not even thought about getting out the blender! I'll have to dig mine out and try somethings. ;)
Alan - Yep! It's fairly nasty stuff. . . . OH! So that's why I keep seeing dancing pink elephants and people automatically do what I want them to!. . . I was wondering about that! ;)
Carra - Thanks! ;) I actually graduated to pancakes this morning! Yea!!! Solid food! ;)
Phly.....take care of those teeth....especially while you're young....I have always.....everyone has a few caps here and there....now they have implants....they screw a tooth into your jaw.....I have two....they're great.
