Bird Watching Fairfield County, Connecticut.
Bird watching I find is very relaxing and an enjoyable way to get back to nature. You can be sitting in the park, on your back deck, at the beach just hanging and watch the birds. Or you can get your exercise; take a hike along the coast or in the woods. Connecticut has an abundance of different birds. Some of the more common species you will see are:-
~ In your yard and park Yellow and Purple Finches, Cardinals, Blue jays, Swifts, Chickadee, Titmouse and on the odd occasion a humming bird or Baltimore Oriole
~ On the coast and marshes you will find gulls, Oystercatchers, Herons, Egrets, Terns, Osprey and an array of Ducks, Geese and Swans
~ In the woods you will find Red tail Hawks, Owls, Woodpeckers along with many of the park birds.

And if you keep your eye open you might even see one of the many Connecticut Bald Eagles, they have been spotted at the Connecticut River, Housatonic River, and Candlewood Lake and at many of the local reservoirs.
