There are no spaces left for BBQ contestants or sponsors, but the public is invited and encouraged to attend the City of Kennesaw's annual Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival at Adams Park and the Ben Robertson Community Center. This fabulously fun event will be held Friday and Saturday, August 20 & 21. Festival hours are Friday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Pigs & Peaches Festival has grown to become one of the premier barbecue events in North Georgia. It features the Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned Professional Contest, recognized as a Georgia State Championship Barbeque Cookoff. In addition to the good eats, over $14,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to contest winners. Also featured are non-sanctioned Backyard BBQ, Anything Butt and Peach Dessert Contests. A large Kids Zone, helicopter rides, ponies, unique vendors, lots of food booths and sponsor exhibits are also part of the Festival.
The main stage will feature two nights of concerts, with A1A, the original Jimmy Buffett tribute band and Steve Gornell from the Joe Cocker band playing a mean guitar along with Roger Hurricane Wilson. The Festival will close on Saturday, with an evening concert starring with The Folsom Prison Gang, a Johnny Cash tribute followed by Butch and the Buckheads performing a rock and roll revival. Tables are available for either night.
Bring your appetite, energy and a spirit of fun for a great day and evening of entertainment in Kennesaw! Call 770-422-9714 to reserve your space. For more Festival information, go to www.kennesaw-ga.gov or www.pigsandpeaches.com or www.pigsandpeaches.com
