Taking a day off and getting your mind completely out of your business for a day is a wonderful thing. You may think you are indespensible, but you are not. Once a week, usually midweek I head for the hills, the beautiful Cascade Mountains. Our hike today was cloudy, misty, tending to rain. It was 10.5 miles long with 2600 feet of elevetion gain. We worked and we sweat and we got wet and were cold. But we kept passing these beautiful foxglove bowed over by the rain and found beauty enough.
Thanks Glenn - how important and great reminder - yes I too try and take a day off during the week in the summer and sit along the Jersey Shore (no - not near the show) - we have some awesome beaches and its great to take in the great weather we have had this year along with the calming of the waves

I try to go out at least 3 times a week with my family for a couple hours just to refresh my batteries and remind myself that there are more things out there besides business.
Roger - Those foxgloves were about the only wild flower left on that mountain, but they were a beauty mark in profusion in the gray of the low-hanging clouds and mist.
Charles - we were on RattleSnake Ridge. 9:15 is coming up.
Todd - That's great. It's important to give children as much time as you can. Your post reflect that you do have fun with the family.
Sounds refreshing even though it was a cold hiking day Glenn, very important to recharge the old batteries. Beautiful flowers.
