Events in Maine, blog posts about what to do on weekends, what's coming up is part of the MeInMaine blog post collection, American Folk Festival covered in today's online news.

american folks festival bangor maineBangor Maine's American Folk Festival is more than music from worldwide entertainers too.

Extensive food vendors offering more than the hotdogs and hamburger, typical fried items are another big part of the event. So are the local Maine artisans, craftsmen, dance routines.

Free admission, four continuous performance stages by the waterfront of Penobscot County in down town Bangor Maine. Fun, music, sun, friends, family, neighbors all at the venue for a three day collection of musical talent. Performers who trek from the four corners of the earth to entertain, provide incredible musical presentations to a large, swaying, singing, very appreciative crowd of music lovers. The Bangor Maine's American Folk Festival is August 27, 28, 29.

Also, this weekend if you have an itch to get behind the wheel of an antique auto, truck or just want to gawk, stare, enjoy seeing the rolling iron of yesterday, attend the 33rd New England Car Show in Owlshead 1955 nash antique carMaine's Transportation Museum.

Nothing takes you back in time than hearing an old song you had forgotten but are now humming, whistling, singing under your breath while gawking, taking in the sight of the fins of a 1959 Cadillac, a 1957 Chevy, 1967 Mustang Ford Shelby car either. All in Maine.

This 1955 Nash antique auto got my attention from the many vehicles offered for preview, for sale. The style, the color, the era when they buzzed by you on the road in the 1950's were a few moons ago.

If you want to own an antique car or truck, be in Owlshead for the Maine car show this weekend. Boats, motorcycles, trucks and not just auto, car display happens this weekend on the coast in Maine.

I can't say that I've ever seen a 1955 Nash, and from the looks of it, I think I know why. It's not pretty.
