Because You Can't Draw From a Dry Well....

I took the summer off from Active Rain.  My Google Juice took a hit, but guess what?

Taking the summer off to spend time with my family meant....

A trip along the Pacific coast....

Trinidad Bay, California

A chance to see the redwoods....

Sequoia National Park, California

Time to go crabbing for Dungeness crabs in Oregon's Netarts Bay:

Crabbing in Netarts Bay, Oregon

A chance to catch up with family....And with dear friends who are like family...The Imuses! Lincoln City Oregon

In other words....I may have dropped of the face of the Active Rain planet for a while....and my Google juice may have taken a hit....

But what I lost in Google juice was well worth the cost.

Because I filled my well back up!

I am SO blessed!!

We were just talking about what you wrote this morning.  Time to reconnect with real people, time to draw from nature, and yes turn off the phone and the computer.  Life is not a google fest, and google will not love you back, or pour a cup of coffee for you!  Wishing you continued success.

I could totally use a trip like that.  I am not worried about Google juice just losing deals!

Sometimes you just have to cut the cord and get away.  Now you are all fresh and ready to draw in that Google juice.  Won't be long before it's flowing again.

Hi Karen - Thanks!  Enjoy your trip to Italy....sounds like a lovely way to refill your well! :)

Hi Ron and Alexandra - Thanks for your good wishes.  Yes, this was a well-needed trip. We didn't have any summer vacation for the past two years, as we spent both summers moving.  You never realize how much you need a break until you finally get one.  I could get used to this! Blessings to you both! :)

Hi Shelley - Yes it certainly is all about balance...something that is too easy to forget!  I'm going to make a point to remember.  :)

Hi Stefan - I wouldn't be worried about losing Google juice if it didn't mean losing deals....but that's exactly what it means.  Sometimes, though, you have to just unplug and step away and let go of some potential deals in order to nourish your soul.  :)

Hi Dean - You're right. Having time away helps to restore my soul and renew my spirit! :) Have an awesome day....thanks for stopping by.

Hi Jane - You're absolutely right. It's hard to let go of the control sometimes though....but if you don't you find you're spending all your time like a gerbil on a wheel, unable to get off! :)  Thanks for stopping by.

Good for you Colleen.  We work to live, not the other way around.  I always see the things I do as an ebb and flow.  when it's ebbing, don't fight the tide.  When you are on vacation, stop trying to do work.  Looks like you had fun on our great West coast.

Good for you.  Google will always be there - your family and your time will not.  In fact, I think you should get double points, double gold stars, double everything for just "doing it."

Hi Christine - I KNOW! I can't wait!!! See you there chicka! :)

Hi Sally - I love the ebb and flow analogy. It's so true. When I am in ebb mode I need to let go of the guilt and let the tide take me where it will because soon enough I'll be back on shore. Great to see you out here....thanks for stopping by.  :)

Hi Michael - Awwww!  Thanks!  :)

Hi Andrea! - It WAS a wonderful summer.....even moreso considering that the past 2 summers we spent moving from house to house in Gainesville.  Sometimes the best thing you can do is be still, and know....
