*sigh* Today is one of those days. One of those days where you just want to drop everything to run and play in the summer sunshine. After the week this has been, I want the beach!!! Ah! The glorious beach, with it's magical relaxation qualities! The pounding of the surf, the warm glow of the streaming sunshine and the soft white sand, all perfectly punctuated by the occasional cry of a seagull. Throw in some quality boogie boarding and body surfing followed by some truly excellent fried calamari and life would be bliss! . . . . It's perfect. . . . Except for the tiny fact that I'm stuck in Idaho, with spruce trees and grizzly bears! . . . *sigh* . . . . Well, at least I have the pool! ;)
Bill - LOL! True!
*Looks at ceiling, then checks the light fixture*. . . Got ya! . *yelling really loud* "I don't hack things, because it's illegal!!" . . . There! That should keep the guys at the CIA busy for a while. ;) JK! Though every few years one or the other of the military branches will actively try to recruit me.
Actually, there is no hacking needed. I simply was going to tell her how to do it, it's actually really easy. You just go in through the DOS base that the Windows Operating System is built on and reset the master password, giving you access to everything on the computer. After that you can go in through the individual program directories/registries and reset the passwords there.;) If for some reason the accountant put up extra security, you go to plan two: You buy a really big baseball bat and track down the old accountant. I would recommend using an Italian or Brooklyn accent for that part. ;)
*Ahhh* ... I havent yet mastered the art of teleportation ... or else I'd be sittiing one of those beach chairs as we 'speak' ... ;o)
Sheldon - When you figure that one out, let me know! I'll help you patent it and we can make billions! ;)
Bill - LOL! I was playing with floppy disks and hard drives when when most little girls were playing with barbies. (I played with those too! But they were always the hero of the story, rescuing Ken from the evil ninja barbies and saving the world one computer at a time.)
Truth be told, computers are as easy or complicated as you make them. (I swear, it's true!) It's like working on an internal combustion engine, it looks super intimidating, but it is nothing more than the parts equaling the whole. When you can break something down into small manageable parts, the whole becomes much more easy to understand. . . . .Or as my Grandmother used to say "Do you know the best way to eat an elephant?. . . You simply take one bite at a time." ;)
Hmm... that quote sounds familiar! And my approach to most things. Break it down into finite, understandable elements, then go bigger picture.
I know I COULD learn to do the in depth PC stuff, but haven't had a real desire or need.
I can do a bit more than the average bear Boo Boo, but when you start talking admin masters and in depth Windows tinkering.... nah... I look on the web for the specific thing I'm trying to address and follow the recipe.
Perhaps it's a function of computers just starting to appear as I went through high school. We had ONE TRS80 and it was a big deal. Get to Annapolis, one guy out of 120 had a PC! Now, laptops are standard issue to every midshipmen. Things change a lot in 25 to 30 years and super curious about how the next few decades are going to work out!
Bottle of wine. My sweetie. Smooth jazz wafting in the breeze. PRICELESS!!!
You crack me up! Well.... at least I have the lake! Now I just need some time to enjoy it! (It's always something!) :OD
Okay, I am never going to let my husband meet you. You both speak that computer speak that us old folks don't understand. I think he is in love just reading your comments!
Um, there are beaches and there are beaches. We careful what you wish for :) I am about 3 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Santa Monica Bay is heavily polluted, and try and get near the beach. And all that sand in your shoes. Nah, I'll take the pool any day.
Bill - It so cool to see all the new technology coming out! Have you seen the new paper thin, flexible film that turns any non-metal surface into a touch screen? I have already decided when I finally buy a house, one whole wall will be glass and I'm covering it in the stuff. It will be like a massive computer touch screen! *is totally geeking out at the thought* ;) . . . But for the rest of the world (we can't all be total techno-nerds like myself) there is Geek Squad and Apple Geniuses. ;)
I'm totally convinced by the time that my daughter is my age that holographic technology will be the "in thing". . . . but we will see! ;)
Joni - I had to make do with the pool today. . . *sigh* It's just not the same! ;)
Lesley - LOL! My hubby would probably object to him trying to steal me away. Besides, what does he need me for when he has you? ;)
Jane - East coast! EAST, not west! ;) I love the outer banks in North Carolina, that's where I took this picture at, and where I would love to be here in a couple weeks. It's so sad to see any part of our beautiful oceans getting polluted, it just breaks my heart.
Phly, I've seen articles on the film. Pretty cool. Will ultimately be able to have the Total Recall entire wall TVs and Minority Report computer interfaces... And the reality is, we probably can't even conceive of what will come next.
Phly, We are going on vacation to Panama Beach Florida the end of September and I'm so excited! I love the beach!! We spend lots of time at Lake Conroe sailing but there are NO BEACHES!
Bill - So true! I mean just look at the technology that cell phones use today! If someone had told you 20 years ago that you would be able to instantly communicate with anyone anywhere in the world, let a lone from a device that was not bigger than your palm, would have you believed them? Probably not. But now you use one of those devices on a daily basis and think nothing of it. It's all just so COOL!!! ;)
Marchel - While there are several large lakes and rivers here in the Boise ID area, you are totally right, nothing beats the beach! I hope that you have a ton of fun on your vacation! ;)
