Did We Forget to Ask for the ORDER!

I was hosting a Major Donor Event for RPAC in Little Rock, AR. this past Wednesday night when I remembered a lesson I learned 30 years ago.  You've got to ask for the order!  This is maybe the single best advise we can give in the real estate business.

I had 27 Realtors mostly from Central Arkansas at a wonderful dinner at the Capital Hotel of which 8 are Major Donors.  A Major Donor is a Realtor is who give at least a $1,000.00 to RPAC per year.  So just a little quick math tells you we had a possible 19 new donors.  It was a very interesting group of Realtors.  One a Past President our State Association plus our Legal Council and the other very involved and successful Realtors.  Well after having dinner and finishing our presentation I told the Group Like all good Sell People I'm going to ask the for the order.  The end result was 12 new Major Donors!!  Great Success Story.

Now for the Rest of the Story.  The Past President from 1994 reminded me that I had never ask him to be a Major Donor.  Same Story from our Attorney!!  The reminder for me was to remember to always ASK!! I think a lot of agents who have been in this business for 10 years never learned that leason and in today's market they can't be order takers!

Don't Forget to Ask for the Order!

You dont get what you dont ask for. You are so right, it's also easy to forget to ask, sometimes you get tied up in the moment and forget what your there for. Thanks for the reminder.

You know, I am teaching some new realtors and that is the main thing that I say everytime I see them. Ask for the order.  A great lesson for everyone.  Thanks for reminding us.

Great Blog.  You should always ask for the business, order or whatever it is you are trying to gain.  If you don't ask, you won't get.

Brenda I agree but it's funny how sometimes we forget.  Also sometimes we just thing our friends and family will do business with us without asking!
