Are Things Perfect?

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Heritage Homes PB00007070

Life and our Real Estate Business are very interesting and are parallel in many ways.  Life is not perfect and if was not for the Bad Times in our life we would not appreciate the Good Times.  Well our Real Estate Careers are the same.  You'll got to experience the Bad Time to Really Appreciate the Good Times!!

However, with all that said It's what we make out of each situation that makes up who we become.  I've been selling Real Estate for over 30 years and this is not the 1st down turn in business.  I remember the 80's.  Was it worst then this down turn?  Some would say yes and some would say no.  What I can tell you the 80's helped me understand what I need to do in order to be successful.  What I will tell you is the ONE LESSON I LEARNED DON'T LISTEN TO ALL THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS.  Just get out there and figure it out.  That not just true in the Real Estate Market but in our PERSONAL LIVES as well.  It's what we make of the moment.  It's what we learn from our mistakes.  It's about being able to say I WILL DO BETTER NEXT TIME.  Guess what? that's all any of us can do.  LEARN AND IMPROVE FROM EVER OPPORTUNITY PUT IN FRONT OF US!!

Today is an OPPORTUNITY and as long as there is a Tomorrow we have a chance to MAKE IT BETTER BUT NEVER PERFECT!

EVERYDAY IS A GOOD DAY AS LONG AS WE HAVE THAT DAY!!!  SO MAKE THE MOST OF EVERY MINUTE.

Michael, we have to realize that today's market is normal for the time being.

Edward and Ted

Thanks for reading my post.  Yes I agree Ted that today's market is normal for today.  What a great way to put that!

Changing the way you look at real estate

Agree!  A lot of people are unable to think this way.  If it weren't for forging ahead and making the best of each day, I would have quit like the roughly 3,000 other agents who did over the past few years.  It's hard to keep a postive attitude every day, but just think that things could always be worse.

Hi Carla that could be good.  Learn all you can learn and it will pay off in the long run.  The good habbits you develop today will make you money in the future!

Dan I agree it is hard to keep positive.  If we look at every day as a learning opportunity then it's easier to stay positive!

Everytime I think things are bad (in my life or in my business) I meet someone or hear something that makes me realize how small my problems really are.  It's all about perspective.

Great message, Michael.  The downturn is a place where you do see agents thriving, not just surviving...and other languishing.  The latter tend to be the negative ones.

I like your message.  And to answer your question are things perfect, in the absolute sense, no not yet.  In the meantime we will turn lemons into lemonade with the understanding that the present economic situation will pass.
