To help someone all alone in a strange town and a strange situation.
I wrote about this orginally in my post Working Across The Miles To Help One In Need.
Our (Century 21 Sundance) customer Miss E. was traveling alone from Missouri to Florida to move into her newly purchased home and along the way she was involved in a single car roll-over accident in which her car caught on fire. A good Samaritan saw the accident and cut her out of her seat belt, pulled her from her wreck and called 911.
Miss E's cell phone was burned along with her purse, clothes, paperwork, keys, pretty much everything she owned that was not in the moving van which was also headed to Florida. Thankfully Miss E only suffered a broken leg in the wreck and was now in a hospital in Illinois, but had no phone numbers of people she needed to call to let them know where she was except that of her former neighbors.
She now had no way to get a hold of her son who was on his way to New York.
Miss E figured she if she could find her Real Estate Agent in Central Florida, he works for Century 21, the one she recently bought a home in Port Orange through, he could help. You see, her son bought the home with her, and her agent John D. has her sons information!
She decided to call a local Century 21 office there in Illinois and that office was Century 21 House Of Realty. Her information was given to Denise Graff who took to the computer and Google. Within 10 minutes Denise phoned me and had John D's phone number. By 10am the next morning, Miss E's son knew of the accident and was booking a flight to Illinois.
Since writing the last post, I've spoken on the phone with Denise Graff with Century 21 House Of Realty. She went to visit Miss E at least twice in the hospital along with other associates from C21 House of Realty. I believe the Broker/Owner even went to visit her also! This sure made Miss E feel good!
Denise kept me up to date on Miss E's condition and when her and her son where to arrive here in Florida so I wasn't the least bit surprised on Monday when I walked in the door and Miss E's son, Art was sitting in the lobby.
Art had the nicest things to say about everyone at C21 House Of Realty! He even went to their office to meet the people who went so far to help his mom and took photos which he said he would e-mail to us. Miss E was in the car waiting while Art came inside, I ran out to see her, and she is doing wonderful despite the horrible bruises on her arms and swollen leg. She couldn't thank everyone enough, especially Denise, for coming to visit her and being so nice. You all made her feel like she was part of a family.
Thank you so much!
I heard but have not confirmed that the folks who drove her in the ambulance brought her in some clothes since her suitcases were destroyed and even the man who rescued her from the car stopped in to see how see was doing. Her son was able to recover some of her jewelry from the burned out vehicle and John Decarie's (AKA John D) charred business card which Art is keeping as a memento of the accident.
Our Miss E. became quite the celebrity during her unscheduled stop in Illinois.
If Century 21 House Of Realty is will to go this far for someone who isn't their customer, just imagine what they are willing to do for someone who is their customer...
