Been a long time since I was there, however, I remember that it is a beautiful place to visit and I guess to live, thank your friend for his animal rescue.

Ted, Idyllwild IS a beautiful place. Of course, not everyone enjoys the mountains....I love it.
I have visited numerous times over the years. It's a cute little area. Its especially great if you want to escape the desert summer heat for a few hours.
