I saw the title on a T-shirt yesterday. I think it voices a lot of the frustration that many of us are feeling. I personally have not given up in keeping this fight peaceful. I believe there are MANY of us who are ready to vote out the corruption.

We have a movement in Arizona that I hope is happening all across the country.

The politicians that are presently in power (Almost all of them Democrats and Republicans) from dog catcher to local school boards all the way to the President need to be replaced by people of integrity.

We need to kill off the corruption at the lower levels so there is no path to rise to Congress and the higher offices. If they have no experience in the lower levels, they can't say they do in order to rise to the next level.

We need to limit terms by the way we vote.

I agree.  The best way to enforce term limits it not to be complacent, and stay on top of them and vote them out every single term.  No more career politicians with full benefits.

More opinions than you want to hear about.

Problem is that, once you replace the people in power, there are then new people in power, often just as corrupt, but posessing no operational skills.  It's the philosophy used by insecure corporate executives.  Always hire from outside -- that way you can blame the candidate for not having an accurate resume.

More important than new faces is that Americans need to demand that the people in office start working together to solve our problems.  Politics today is nothing but an endless campaign tour.

Michael -- I don't think we need to vote out the ones that do right for the good of the country. If we get good representatives in, then we need to keep them and vote out the ones that are driven by their self-interests.

You are right, Mike, about the comparison with the corporate world. Working together is only possible when agenda-driven politics is not dominant.

If we weed out the people using their position for personal gain instead of working for what is best for the country, we would have a good start.  Having term limits reinforces the good start.  There are good people on both sides who basically have good intentions but get bullied into voting against their own principles.

Lois -- We don't need ANY spineless wimps in Congress. We need people who will stand and fight for what is right.

@ Lois in # 6:  I am totally against making a "law" which would install "term limits" as such.  I think it would be unconstititional, as it would absolutely LIMIT my right regarding who I could vote for.  It would also limit YOUR choices as well.

Say for example there was a one-term limit on the Presidency.  That would have meant that you would not have been able to vote Reagan in for a second term, and the same for George W. Bush.

We already HAVE term limits.  We call it "voting."

John, curruption everywhere, look at the city Manager of Bell,CA and his cohorts....Unfortunately it is a poorman desease. They come in poor and leave rich. There were many politicians from both side of the isle Dems & Reps, they all came in poor and left rich how des that work? Why do political candidates spend hundreds of millions to get elected for a job that does not pay a lot?
