Sergio's No Limit 7K Walk/Run - I ran it and lived to tell the tale...

It might have not been a good idea to go out the night before a 7K run... Not Alina Spektor's wisest decision...

However, after a fresh cup of coffee, bright and early in the morning, I made it to "Doctor McLean Park" in Woodbridge, and I was on time!!!

 Alina Spektor Alberto Pintos

I met up with 2 Realtors from my office in Vaughan, Re/Max Premier, we threw on our shirts and we were on our way through the streets of Woodbridge.

Did I mention it was raining???  No... Noah's Arc raining!!! I actually had to bring my umbrella!!! That was quite the site jogging down Islington.  If a big wind had come up I would've been off like Mary Poppins and finished the race in first place!!!

All I kept thinking was it was for such a great cause, raising funds for prostate cancer research for Sunnybrook Hospital.

The event was very well organized, there was lots of food and refreshments and even dessert...mmmm... after the 7K run I didn't even feel guilty having cake!

Next year I'll be back at Sergio Di Pinto's No Speed Limit 7K Walk/Run for SUUUUUREEEE! If you would like to make a contribution, please check out his post here.

"I listen for a living." It's all about you.

Good for you.  Congratulations on the run and the desire to do it again. It is our daily activities that make up the fabric of our life.  You are showing us that fun and exercise is part of that plan. Thank you

Thank you for your comment, Larry! You're absolutely right, although as Realtors, our career is a major part of our lives, we can't forget to live...having fun along the way is an added bonus ! ;-)

Alina - Welcome to Active Rain!  I so wish I could have participated in Sergio's run - it sounds like it was an amazing event.  Good for you for participating in spite of the rain - I must say, growing up in Vancouver, it would be a shock if it wasn't raining for an event.  Hey, and you got cake, too?  Lucky!

Sally - Thank you!  Yes, I did have cake and after the run in the rain it tasted like the most expensive dessert at one of the best restaurants here in Toronto ;-) I must say it was "different" running in the rain.  I am sure you hear stories like this every day, being from Vancouver... I have never been to Vancouver, believe it or not, and I'm just itching to go... especially now that rain doesn't scare me ;-)

HI Alina, glad to see you are making your mark in the "rain" here on AR and while running in Sergio's 7km run for cancer.

Working can involve way more hours in a day than we have so keeping in shape running is an excellent stress reliever.

Sergio said he was out running under the big full moon the other night. I can just imagine how beautiful it was.

Thank you, Michelle.  I can only imagine how amazing the experience must have been for Sergio!  I went sky diving last week and can't even describe how incredible it felt.  My next blog will be about that!
