Having fun and winning stuff

By
Real Estate Agent with Tide Marsh Real Estate

If you are like me, you are doing anything you can to survive in this market.  One thing I have found to be fun and profitable in my market is to attend every open house possible.  Around here, nobody goes to these things so agents frequently offer incentives to get other agents to their listings.  One agent was offering a $100 gift card to a nice restaurant in a raffle, so I went with my father (also a Realtor).  We were two of the three agents who bothered to show up to the $1.5M house, and I won the dinner.  That was a nice date (I did not take Dad...sorry but I am single).  Another was a 3-home open house and if you went to all 3 you were entered to win $150.  Guess what?  I was the only one, so I of course "won" the $150.  So now, as my buyers hem and haw I look for these opportunities to win things knowing I will have a great chance simply by showing up.  This week will be a chance to win a foursome at a private golf club.  Wish me "luck"!

This could be a great idea.... 8 open houses per day x 5 days per week x 52 weeks per year (I am dedicated to my work).... this could work well for me.... hell, I might even see one of those things... what are they called again? That's it, a borrower.

That certainly is looking at the bright side.  Sounds like it works for you.
