Third MeMe's the Charm?

I've been meme'd again!  Michele Connors meme'd me a while back, and I've only now found time to respond.  Now, I must come up with five MORE things you don't knkow about me!  This will be hard, as I'm pretty much, at this a

  1. I used to be an excessively picky eater - I reached age 20, growing up in Texas, without even tasting Mexican food or BBQ.   Now, I'm a chef and, while I won't eat just anything, will at least try most things.
  2. I cannot abide the taste of beer (tastes and smells like rotten bananas to me).  Likewise, not so crazy about cheese unless it's in cheesecake or pizza or thoroughly adulterated in some way.  I will cook with beer, however (chili, roast beef, and so on) - it makes a great ingredient!
  3. I've had a long and varied career, everything from secretary to legal assistant to executive assistant to word processing business owner to horse breeder to real estate agent.  When I was a little girl, I was outraged at the fact that there was only one life and we had to pick what we wanted to do with it.  I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up, but real estate comes pretty darned close.
  4. I'm an old hippy.   Was 18 in 1968 - enough said?
  5. Our children are 11-1/2 years apart.  So I "mothered" for, pretty much, 30 years straight.  (Who am I kidding?  They're 23 and 35 and I STILL "mother".)

And, now, who to pass the meme torch on to?

I pick . . .

Christine Durham, a fellow agent at ERA Colonial Real Estate who's recently joined AR.

Sharon Sapp, another AR newbie and fellow horse enthusiast.

Jeanne Dufort, because the urls of our websites are only one word apart, so we must think alike!

Linda Box Taylor, another Texas agent, up in Plano.

Lexa Monteirth, just because I like her attitude.

Christina, I DID come to like Mexican at age 20.  Nothing my parents could do could solve the picky eater problem, but I fell madly in love with a man who would eat just about anything (well, he won't eat seaweed and eggplant stew, and he won't eat hominy - which I will - but he will eat pretty much anything else).  I wasn't about to let the love of my life know that I was so inexperienced, culinarily-speaking, so I just gritted my teeth and tried it, discovered I loved it, and the rest is history.

Hello Tricia,
I enjoyed learning more about you.  Though I must say, I can't imagine anyone not liking cheese--I am a cheese lover.  My Mother tells me "A Mother never stops Mothering", guess I'll learn that as my daughter grows up.  Thank you.

Cynthia, I have a theory about that.  I don't like quite a few things that are "social foods".  In high school biology, I took the taste test that is an example of a genetically pre-determined ability to taste certain things - you taste  phenylthiocarbamide (some people can taste it, some can't, and it's genetically predetermined).  I fell into one of the 25% categories.  Recently, I discovered that there are many things that super tasters (one end of the 25% categories) don't like, and, lo and behold, it could have been a list of things that I don't like (though I've taught myself to appreciate some of them, prepared properly - still don't like beer, but have come to appreciate some wines and some single malt scotch).

Tricia,

I have added your third meme to my alphabetical meme list.  Are you going for the record?

30 years of motherhood!  Incredible!

BTW, I think that your meez's horse has issues! ;)

Lucky :)

Lucky, when I first set up that meez, the horse would suddenly take off to the left, rider's wind blowing in the breeze.  For some reason, it doesn't do it here.
