Take What We Can…and Save the Rest for Later

By
Real Estate Agent with Liberty Homes RS-#62825

Some may believe they ‘know it all' and therefore the need to educate further comes to a standstill.  I learned long ago that the learning never stops.

I had taken MANY ‘courses' for personal empowerment and though the structure of the classes were about the same there were certain areas I needed to ‘get'I just wasn't getting it because obviously I wasn't applying it to my life.

I finally took a risk to try something new and applied what I'd learned to my life.

It worked.

Same goes for anything we learn for real estate, blogging, social media and more. I will no longer say Facebook doesn't help with business ....because I don't apply it. I use Facebook to socialize with family and friends and peers from ActiveRain and Real Estate.

I WILL say ....ActiveRain has helped me tremendously because I apply all I learn every day  with my business, personal empowerment, socializing, blogging, connecting, learning, continued growth and education. How do I know it works?  Closed transactions from leads and referrals from those I've connected with and more importantly with the friendships formed.

We may have a load of information in our memory bank.

But it does no good unless we apply the information.

We ALL do NOT know it all.

Ah..there's the "rub." We can gather all the knowledge we can hold but it's worthless without applying it consistently. I find this also to be a huge issue in my life. Sometimes there's so much stimuli coming at us, it's hard to step back and work a plan, one task at a time. There are so many things we COULD do that it's hard to figure out the right path...I figure that this is one of the main life lessons that I am here in this life to learn. Thanks for the post!

There is always a learning curve especially with the www and our business environments changing at the speed of light.  Right now it isn't a walk on "Easy Street" to do what we do and stay ahead of the curve but those that do will succeed in the end :)

Sally,

I am always reading and learning and trying to apply what is good into my life.  Seems like it's always a steep learning curve, but I've always succeeded at what I went at.

I enjoy your attitude!

Sally, that's why I love the Buddhist proverb, When the Student is ready, the teacher will appear.  We can read a million books, but until we are ready to hear something in our hearts, we won't learn.

Sally, you are SO right! First, we need to be ready. Then we can learn. We should never discount the possibilities of other ways until we actually try them (fully try, not just once) and can, after a concerted effort, find that they don't. Otherwise, we may just not know how to use those tools correctly yet...and need to LEARN... :)

Dori:  That's sweet of you!  Nice bumping into you in this HUGE network again!

Marney:  Exactly...being ready means that we're ready to get out of our own minds and open it up to new possibilities!

Susan: So true....some may even have that gut feeling that there is something more to learn but not do anything about it because of the 'comfortability' in that old self.

Thanks Judi...it's all about the process...not being stagnant with what we already know.

Renee: I'm finding that I'm still able to keep my comfort level in business....but without the progress within I wouldn't even be where I am today :)  Now...let me give ya a big buddy HUG!

Cari: And if one does not even try it at all...how would one know if it did or did not work?

Woo Hoo, Our lives are changing and so are the tools we need. Sadly most of the old tools are not enough to be well equipped for our new society of change.

Aloha Sally,

You know there is not a day that goes by that I do not learn something new about r.e. or my business. That's one of the aspects of r.e. that I love, it's never exactly the same.

Woo Hoo, I was thinking of you last evening. I found a special treat of a musical piece that somehow made me think of you. It was so special and I wanted to share it and decided that I am going to put the link here for you. ( I hope this is not considered post hijacking by adding a link. If so you can copy the link and delete the comment. ). It is to be savored so you can even save it for a special time when you need something calm and beautiful to relax you and give yourself over to the power of how this music makes you feel.

Here is the link for you.

Sally, those magic times when we have those "Aha!" moments are so necessary for us to really learn and apply the information that we have read or heard. It is always a good thing to recognize those moments and make the most of them, in all areas of our lives - business, personal, emotional, intellectual, spiritual...
