Welcome to the Wharf in Reston VA. Contemporary waterfront homes just off Glade Drive.

There is nothing like it in Northern Virginia. It is unique, with 100% of the homes being on the water. That is planning by a true artist.

Diane: What home styles can I find in The Wharf?

Steve: This community is unique classic contemporary.   The pictures in this post are of The Wharf...truly beautiful isn't it?

Like a resort in the heart of Fairfax County's high tech dominion: Reston/Herndon/Dulles

Also, if you go to the listings in the links above and click on the camera or movie reel icons, you can see what folks have done with the various floor plans.

The Wharf is served by the following schools, with links embedded:

Sunrise Valley Elementary

Hughes Middle

South Lakes High School

Always double check the Fairfax County School Locater website by entering in the address of any home you plan to purchase. School boundaries change and 3rd party on line school info is not always up to date or accurate. A follow up email or phone call to the schoolwould also be advisable.

There are more options for shopping, entertainment and dining near The Wharf than you can shake a stick at.  You can find everything you need for daily consumption right at the corner of Colts Neck and Glade at Hunters Woods Village Center.... which also has an indoor pool and community center!

Reston Town Center is just a 7 minute jump down Reston Parkway, so all the shopping and dining establishments there are easily the disposal of Wharf residents.

Fair Oaks, Fair Lakes and Fairfax Corner are all not much more than 15 minutes away in the other direction down Lawyers Road to West Ox. You can get anywhere from The Wharf.

Diane: The Wharf sounds good and looks great from these photos. What philosophical advice would you give us regarding our Reston house hunting adventure?

Steve: Check out the totality of the choices before you, analyze your needs and wants, separate the two, visit as many properties as you need to until you can connect with just the right home for you. It will be almost a spiritual sensation....a 1970’s  terminology…you should feel the right “vibe”.

The right real estate agent will understand this and enjoy the hunt as much as you will…do not work with anyone with whom YOU don't also have that “vThe Wharf in Reston. Waterfront town housesibe”..... there is no point in that.

....And try to be at peace about the whole process.

Diane: Would you and your wife be interested in helping us find just the right home?

Steve: Happy to help with no hassle and no pressure Diane. Just drop us a line and we can chat about your requirements.

Steve and Jan, What incredible photos! The tour you gave us from these photos is very warm and inviting! The neighborhood has such "patio appeal" - get it? vs "curb appeal"!! ***winks***

Steve, I really like a lot of the site plans in Reston that use water.  These look pretty wonderful!

Ruth, It is easy to make this neighborhood look good. "Point and Shoot" Truly unique and beautiful.

Pat, Reston has kept its charm and is true to its design as a mixture of green space, employment, and homes entwined in an aesthetic package.

Steve, I could fish right off of the dock.  We can't build anything within 50-100 feet of the water in Minnesota.

Bill this is very controlled water. It is spring fed and can be bled off in case of flooding. In most cases we are like Minn. It would be foolish to build any closer.
