The Orlando RainCamp is over, and after an hour drive I am back at my computer. The hermit returns to the shell.
There are a lot of mixed feelings about the whole experience, but I need some time to settle and figure it for myself.
I will sure write about it. This quick blog is just one observation from RainCamp.
There were several people who I know “AR well”, and it was interesting to meet the people “from the computer”. One of those was Richard Zaretsky, a prominent Real Estate attorney from West Palm Beach. He is a member on AR for quite some time, and I remember when he just started. I sent him an e-mail, told him I had a client selling 2 condos (short sale), Richard took the case, and we finally closed both, one in 6 months and another in 13.
It is quite possible that my referral was Richard’s first business from AR (at least it is flattering for me to think it was). Since then there were a few other deals that we brought to Richard, and then there were two where he referred his client to us to help them get the property under contract. I once stopped by his office in West Palm Beach to drop the documents, but I did not disturb Richard, so today we met for the first time.
It was very easy to recognize him, and we ended up at the same table at lunch. There were, I think, at least 10 people around the table, and while the gentlemen of the past were talking about women and horses, gentlemen (and ladies of today) were discussing short sales and horse$hit. I was stunned to notice that not a single person at the table knew who Richard was. Not a single one…
I was sitting at the table and trying to understand how it could happen that agents who are on Active Rain and who are involved in Short sale did not know Richard Zaretsky. He blogs on AR. His posts about short sales, foreclosures, loan modifications are a must for everyone, who is doing short sales.
We owe it to our clients. Being confident and being knowledgeable is not the same. No matter what designation you have, believe me, you will find his posts worth reading and rereading.
While at the RainCamp, I noticed that Richard has just posted
Getting Showered On in Raincamp. It was a terrific idea, whhich was not easy, as Internet connection sucked, but nonetheless, he did it. At the bottom there is a link to TABLE OF CONTENTS - SHORT SALE AND LOAN MODIFICATION ARTICLES. Do yourself a favour. Read the man who knows.
