New home sales hit lowest level

Sales of newly built homes dropped to their lowest level since the government started tracking the numbers more than four decades ago, with demand for home purchases down in all four regions of the country.

This may seem like bad news to some, but it may be good news to those considering a new home.  In the past we have seen increases in new home prices due to increased labor, and material costs, higher interest rates and the cost of land.  Shopping for a new lot and home to build can be much less stressful at this time because price are stable.  Buyers will not be forced into decisions because of price increases.  This may be the best time to build.
