Ask Clint Lasher, Project Manager at the Villages at Crest Mountain in Asheville, NC  about making dreams of an affordable “Green’ home come true if you want to smile.  (see 12 second video, below)

The Dream: A LEED for Neighborhood™ registered project where you will find affordable homes.
Location: The Villages at Crest Mountain, Asheville, NC

The Definition of A Dream:  A LEED for Neighborhood™ registered project -- A neighborhood that complies with the Nation's first rating system for Green Neighborhoods. In partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC) has created a powerful environmental strategy: sustainability at the scale of neighborhoods and communities. The joint venture, known as LEED for Neighborhood Development (or LEED-ND), is “ a system for rating and certifying green neighborhoods.

LEED-ND builds on USGBC’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) systems, the world's best-known third-party verification that a development meets high standards for environmental responsibility. LEED-ND integrates the principles of new urbanism, green building, and smart growth into the first national standard for neighborhood design, expanding LEED's scope beyond individual buildings to a more holistic concern about the context of those buildings.”

Savy investors are realizing the value in a green planned community with a strong ammenitiy package.  There are a large number of homes for cheap or foreclosed, but they will not appreciate over time and will not appraise at a good value at re sell.  So how do you ensure you home will appreciate?  The answer is buy in a community that ensures your investment will be protected.

Hey Clint. We are just about 45 minutes from you and 15 minutes from Black Mountain, and share a similar philosophy, it seems. Creston Community has conservation easements on about 1110 acres, 550 acres are shared community space, with amenities that include hiking trails that wind through hardwood forests adjoining Pisgah National Forest. Happy to do referrals. Give a call!
