Home-sellers beware: Don't paint yourself into a corner by holding on to taste-specific color choices

There's absolutely nothing wrong with vivid wall color choices in a home. After all, that's why many of us opt for homeownership -- to have the freedom to decorate in any way, shape or color we like! But when it comes to selling our homes, it's always wise to offer perspective buyers the opportunity to use their own "designer" imaginations -- just as we did when we purchased our homes.

Buyers are oftentimes put off by vivid color choices, and the thought of having to repaint. Don't give perspective buyers the opportunity to view your home in a negative light! A little paint can make all the difference between buyers making you an offer on your home, or making an offer on the move-in ready house down the street!

Buyers are always happier when they can decide for themselves what color choices they would like. By creating a more neutral wall color palette, one that will enable them to see beyond our own personal color choices, buyers will be able to get excited about how they will decorate and make the home their own.

Paint -- a big bang for the buck that will appeal to the most buyers possible!

Very true Peggy.  And one of the least expensive ways to change the look of a home.  Good post and best of luck to you.

A little bit of paint goes a long way to freshen up a home for sales.  Whether the buyer likes vivid colors or beige through out  a clean coat of paint makes a home a whole lot easier to sell.  Good post.
