O' FOR THE INOCENCE OF MY YOUTH...

O' FOR THE INOCENCE OF MY YOUTH...  I went to watch my six year old grandson play baseball tonight, and found myself reflecting on "days gone by."

My grandson has proven to be a very good ball player, and several of his team-mates have as well.  Tonight, they couldn't buy a hit at a moldy-oldies yard sale.  I watched the frustration in the parents' faces, and the anxt in the coaches' eyes.  The boys: they just went about being six year olds...  I thought about times when "we" would fall down over and over, but always get up one more time than we fell.  When the day was gone, we slept to awake to another day: unscathed by yesterday, and all excited about today.  These boys will play again Saturday, and give little-or-no-thought to the failings of this day.  O' FOR THE INOCENCE OF MY YOUTH...  I'm a REALTOR® and I will be back tomorrow!

Dedicated to Andrew Morgan Davidson with Granddad's gratitude for the things I learn from him.

Looking For Homes With A Smile

Margaret, at my age, I'm looking for time to still.  One of my greatest joys is to be quiet (still) and relish in the joy of 9 grandkids--Andrew being the oldest.  They bring a challenge to any thoughts of getting old.  I'm 63, and they love to con me into doing summer-saults, playing pitch & catch, hoisting them on my shoulders, and anything else my aching old body will regret tomorrow; BUT I'M ALIVE & WELL!!!  Pass the Advil...

Jack, thanks for the sentiment, and I don't know about innocence; but resilliance is a lesson I learn from these youngsters.  Several months ago, Andrew was upset about the difficulty of some task, and said "I cant!"  We talked about "can't" and I pushed him to try again.  The other day, he told me he had to keep trying--he can't quit!  Resolve this day that I won't quit!  I'll be back tomorrow...
